New Hampshire Ranked Safest State in the Nation by U.S. News & World Report

New England College is proud to share that New Hampshire has been named the Safest State in the Nation in the 2025 U.S. News & World Report Best States rankings. This recognition reflects New Hampshire’s strong public safety record, low crime rates, and commitment to community well-being—key factors for students and families when choosing a place to live and study.
According to the Governor’s Office, New Hampshire ranked #1 in the country for public safety, leading in both low property crime and violent crime rates. The announcement also highlighted the State’s strong partnerships between law enforcement and local communities as a major factor in achieving this recognition.
